Streaming subscriptions in Belgium: what the stack costs

Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, HBO Max and Streamz together cost €58.94 a month in Belgium, €707 a year. Platform by platform, every price dated.

€58.94 a month. That is what Netflix Standard, Disney+ Standard, ad-free Prime Video, HBO Max Standard and Streamz Premium cost in Belgium, at the prices I checked on 19 October 2026. That makes €707.28 a year, without a single live channel. The same stack with ads wherever possible drops to €43.95.

How much do Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, HBO Max and Streamz add up to?

Between €43.95 and €91.93 a month, depending on the tiers.

Nobody subscribes to five platforms on the same day. You take one for a series, a second for the children, a third because it came with the Amazon account. And the total never shows up on a single bill: it is scattered across the credit card, the PayPal account and sometimes the operator invoice. Here are the public prices, tier by tier.

Monthly prices in Belgium, checked on 19 October 2026 against the dated sources listed at the foot of the page.

Three stacks, three budgets:

StackLine-upPer monthPer year
Ads wherever possibleNetflix Standard, Disney+ with ads, Prime Video with ads, HBO Max Basic, Streamz Basic€43.95€527.40
The common stackNetflix Standard, Disney+ Standard, ad-free Prime Video, HBO Max Standard, Streamz Premium€58.94€707.28
Top tier everywhereNetflix Premium, Disney+ Premium, ad-free Prime Video, HBO Max Premium, Streamz Premium+, Apple TV€91.93€1,103.16

The common stack already weighs three quarters of a complete Proximus internet and TV bundle, listed at €75.99 off-promotion on 19 October 2026. And that bundle includes the connection without which none of these five apps opens. I come back further down to the comparison with television alone, which says even more.

With or without ads: what is the gap on each platform?

From €1.99 to €5 a month per platform. €14.99 across the whole stack.

PlatformWith adsWithout adsMonthly gapYearly gap
Disney+€6.99€10.99€4.00€48.00
Prime Video€2.99€4.98€1.99€23.88
HBO Max€6.99€10.99€4.00€48.00
Streamz€9.99€14.99€5.00€60.00
Netflixno such tier€10.99 (1 screen)not applicablenot applicable
Apple TVno such tier€9.99not applicablenot applicable

The gap buys more than the absence of ads. At Disney+, the €6.99 tier rules out offline downloads. At HBO Max, Basic allows none either, against 30 downloads on Standard, according to the platform's Belgian page consulted on 19 October 2026. For a family going on holiday with a tablet, that detail usually settles it, not the four minutes of commercials.

Netflix is the exception that skews comparisons. Its ad-supported tier is announced for 2027, its Belgian price is not set, and the cheapest option remains Essential at €10.99, with a single screen.

How much does Prime Video cost in Belgium now that it carries ads?

€2.99 a month with ads, €4.98 without.

Amazon added advertising to films and series on Prime Video on 17 June 2026. The base price did not move, €2.99 a month or €25 a year, but removing the ads costs €1.99 more. L'Avenir, a Belgian daily, did the arithmetic on the day of the announcement: a 66.5 percent increase for anyone who refuses the ads.

It is still by far the cheapest platform in the group. It has one trap, though. Channels and events sold as extras inside the app, sport first among them, keep their advertising even if you pay for the ad-free option. A yearly member only switches over at renewal.

How much does Disney+ cost in Belgium, and are ads coming to every tier?

€6.99, €10.99 or €15.99 a month, prices unchanged since 30 September 2025.

The change lies elsewhere. The Disney+ terms of use updated on 20 September 2026 allow advertising and promotional messages "before or after playback" on every Belgian tier, Standard and Premium included. Disney stated straight afterwards that no conventional advertising would interrupt or precede films and series on those tiers. The wording of the contract is still broader than the promise. I therefore keep both tiers in the "without ads" column of the table, noting that nothing guarantees they will stay there.

No platform sends a summary bill: adding up the subscriptions is your job.

Does paying yearly really bring the bill down?

Yes: €91.74 saved on the common stack.

Disney+, HBO Max, Streamz and Prime Video offer a yearly rate. Netflix offers none. Paying in advance for everything that allows it takes the common stack from €707.28 to €615.54 a year:

PlatformMonthly, over twelve monthsYearlySaving
Netflix Standard€203.88no yearly rate€0
Disney+ Standard€131.88€109.90€21.98
Ad-free Prime Video€59.76€25 + €23.88 of add-on€10.88
HBO Max Standard€131.88€109.00€22.88
Streamz Premium€179.88€143.88€36.00
Total€707.28€615.54€91.74

The saving has a price, and I see it every year in the messages I get in September. A yearly subscription cannot be cancelled after the series you came for. If you rotate between platforms, a month of Disney+ in December and a month of HBO Max in spring, the monthly rate works out cheaper than two full yearly plans. Yearly only pays for the platform you would keep anyway.

Streamz is the textbook case. The platform added €1 to every tier on 20 April 2026, according to the announcement relayed on Telenet's official forum. Telenet only sells the monthly tiers, so a subscriber who goes through the Telenet box pays the highest rate by default: €14.99 for Premium instead of €11.99 a month on a yearly plan bought direct.

From how many subscriptions does operator TV become cheaper?

From the second one, if you compare against the TV component of a bundle alone.

Operators do not sell television on its own, but their bundles let you isolate what it costs. I worked these amounts out from the price lists checked this month for our operator rankings:

OperatorPrice of the TV component in a bundle, off-promotionDate checked
VOO€17.00 (TV with the .évasion box)17/10/2026
Proximus€18.0029/09/2026
Orange€20.00 (Orange TV), €10.00 for TV Lite05/10/2026
Telenet€20.00 (€5.00 box and €15.00 channel package)11/10/2026

Netflix Standard and Disney+ Standard already come to €27.98. Two platforms therefore cost more than an operator's television, set-top box included, with live Belgian channels, recording and catch-up. The two do not deliver the same service, of course: the TV component contains neither Netflix series nor Disney+ ones.

Should you then take them through the operator? The unit price does not change. In the Proximus TV options table checked on 19 October 2026, Netflix Standard is €16.99, Netflix Premium €21.99 and Disney+ €10.99, exactly the public prices. The Entertainment Premium bundle, at €33.99 off-promotion, adds Entertainment Standard at €12.99 and only saves €6.98 a month for someone who wanted that third component. One oddity on the list: Streamz is shown at €11.95, between the Basic tier at €9.99 and the Premium tier at €14.99 sold direct. The exact tier is not stated, and I advise you to have it confirmed before ordering.

Which stack for which household?

These are the cases I come across most often, and what I would do in your place.

SituationWhat to do
Couple watching one series at a timeOne platform on a monthly plan, switched with the series. Budget: €10.99 to €16.99
Family with children, two screens in the eveningDisney+ Standard yearly plus Netflix Standard: €26.15 a month on average
Family of four watching at the same timePremium tiers on Netflix and Disney+, or a single Premium account and a viewing schedule
Subscribed to five platforms "just in case"Keep the two most watched, cancel the rest, come back for a month when a series comes out
Household that wants live Belgian TV and sportKeep the operator's TV component and a single platform
Student in a kot, the Belgian word for a rented student roomPrime Video with ads at €2.99, plus the free Auvio, VRT MAX and RTL play

Before stacking, check four things on your bank statements:

  • the number of streaming debits over the last three months, including those billed through the operator or through Apple and Google;
  • duplicates, such as Netflix paid direct and also included in an operator bundle, the most frequent case I come across;
  • Premium tiers taken for 4K on a television that cannot display it;
  • free trials never cancelled, Apple TV first among them with its seven days before €9.99 a month.

Auvio, VRT MAX and RTL play stay at €0

The public broadcasters and RTL charge nothing. Auvio, from RTBF, VRT MAX, from VRT, and RTL play ask for a free account and carry live and catch-up for their channels. For news, weather and Belgian series, they replace part of the stack without costing a cent. The detail is in our guide to free live TV in Belgium.

The price of Netflix alone, tier by tier, is set out in Netflix prices in Belgium versus a TV subscription. For bundles with television, ranked on the second-year price, see the TV subscription ranking or the comparator.

Frequently asked questions

The most common stack, Netflix Standard, Disney+ Standard, ad-free Prime Video, HBO Max Standard and Streamz Premium, costs €58.94 a month, or €707.28 a year. Take every top tier and add Apple TV, and you reach €91.93 a month, or €1,103.16 a year. Prices checked on 19 October 2026.

€2.99 a month or €25 a year, with Prime Video included. Since 17 June 2026, films and series on Prime Video carry advertising. Removing it costs €1.99 more a month, €4.98 in total. A yearly membership only switches to advertising when it renews.

€6.99 a month with ads, €10.99 for Standard or €109.90 a year, €15.99 for Premium or €159.90 a year. Those rates have not moved since 30 September 2025. The terms updated on 20 September 2026 allow messages before or after playback on every tier, but Disney says no conventional advertising will interrupt its ad-free tiers.

Not yet. Netflix announced it in May 2026 for 2027, to replace the €10.99 Essential tier. Its Belgian price is not set. For now, the cheapest option remains Essential, limited to a single screen.

Netflix: 1 screen on Essential, 2 on Standard, 4 on Premium. Disney+: 2 on Standard, with or without ads, and 4 on Premium. HBO Max: 2 on Basic and Standard, 4 on Premium. A family of four watching at the same time therefore needs the Premium tiers, which adds €15 a month across those three platforms.

The unit price is the same: €16.99 for Netflix Standard and €10.99 for Disney+ in the Pickx options table checked on 19 October 2026. The Entertainment Premium bundle at €33.99 only saves money if you also wanted Entertainment Standard at €12.99. Without it, you overpay by €6.01 a month.

Auvio for RTBF, the French-speaking public broadcaster, VRT MAX for VRT, its Flemish counterpart, and RTL play for RTL-TVI, Club RTL and Plug RTL. All three ask for an account, none asks for a bank card. They carry live and catch-up for their own channels, not the series of the paid platforms.
