Proximus promo: the real price once it ends

The Proximus promo at 0 EUR for 3 months: the month-four price, the real cost over one and three years, the options that keep billing, and how Orange, Telenet and VOO compare.

ByVincent H.9 min read

The Proximus promo makes your bundle free for three months, then bills the full price from month four: 75.99 EUR a month for Internet Go + TV, surveyed on 27 September 2026. Here is the real cost over one year and over three, the options that keep running afterwards, and what Orange, Telenet and VOO do instead.

How much does the Proximus bundle cost during the promo, and after?

Zero euros for three months. Then the full price, all at once.

The Flex+ promotion runs from 17 August to 30 September 2026 inclusive, for any new internet subscriber. It takes 57.99 EUR a month off Internet Go, 64.99 EUR off Mega Fiber, 74.99 EUR off Giga Fiber, 18 EUR off TV and 15 EUR off the mobile plan, for the first three months. Installation by a technician, normally billed at 79 EUR, is free. Proximus states it may extend the offer or end it early: the amounts below apply to the current window, surveyed on 27 September 2026 on the Proximus bundle page.

Flex+ bundleMonths 1 to 3From month 4 (post-promotion)Cost of the first 12 monthsMonthly average over 12 months
Internet Go + TV0 EUR75.99 EUR683.91 EUR56.99 EUR
Mega Fiber + TV0 EUR82.99 EUR746.91 EUR62.24 EUR
Giga Fiber + TV0 EUR92.99 EUR836.91 EUR69.74 EUR
Internet Go + TV + mobile0 EUR90.99 EUR818.91 EUR68.24 EUR

The column to look at is the third one. It is the price of the thirteenth bill, and it is what you will pay for years. The three free months are a real gift, I am not disputing that. But they change nothing about the amount that lands every month afterwards.

What is "0 EUR for 3 months" really worth over three years?

227.97 EUR on Internet Go + TV. Spread over three years, 6.33 EUR a month.

I have run this calculation on every promotion since 2021, because it is the only one that compares offers of different lengths. Most of the households I met while installing boxes kept their bundle for three to five years. Set against that timescale, a three-month promotion weighs very little.

Over thirty-six months, Flex+ Internet Go + TV costs 33 times 75.99 EUR, so 2,507.67 EUR. The monthly average drops to 69.66 EUR, against 75.99 EUR with no promotion. On Giga Fiber + TV, the total climbs to 3,068.67 EUR, an average of 85.24 EUR.

Three free months is an 8 percent discount over three years. The figure is honest, but it has nothing to do with the impression the word "free" leaves behind.

That is no reason to turn the promo down. It is a reason to compare offers on their post-promotion price first, and to use the promotion to separate two equivalent bundles, never to choose between two bundles that are not equivalent.

Who is eligible for the Proximus promo?

New internet subscribers, and only them.

The conditions say "any new internet subscriber who takes out a Flex+ (Fiber) subscription". In practice, three situations come up.

Your situation3-month Flex+ promoNote
Internet with another operator, moving to ProximusYesProximus handles cancelling the old contract
Proximus mobile-only customer adding internetIn principle, yesYou become a new internet subscriber
Already a Proximus internet customerNoOnly option promotions remain open to you

The third case is the one that grates, and I understand why. A loyal customer of ten years pays 75.99 EUR for exactly the same bundle a neighbour gets free for three months. Option promotions, on the other hand, stay open to existing TV customers: the Sports option at 24.99 EUR a month gets 5 EUR off for three months until 30 November 2026, as do Entertainment Premium at 33.99 EUR and All-in at 49.99 EUR.

Which options keep billing after the promo?

Every one you have not switched off yourself.

This is the most profitable trap in promotional bundles, and it is not unique to Proximus. What is free for three months turns into a paid subscription with no fresh notice. Here are the lines to watch in the conditions surveyed on 27 September 2026:

  • Netflix, Disney+ and other TV options. Refunded up to 16.99 EUR a month for three months (Netflix 16.99 EUR, Disney+ 10.99 EUR, other options 12.99 EUR), then billed at the normal price.
  • The Secure Net trial. Three free months for new Flex+ customers until 1 November 2026. After that, 4 EUR a month for the fixed network, 2 EUR for mobile, 6 EUR for both, unless you cancel in MyProximus before the trial ends.
  • The Wi-Fi Booster. If one is offered at installation, its rental continues after the free first month.
  • Technician installation. Free during the promo. Outside it, 79 EUR if self-installation was possible at your address.

The arithmetic behind that box is simple: 75.99 EUR + 16.99 EUR for Netflix + 6 EUR for Secure Net. Almost 23 EUR more than the price you had in mind, for two boxes ticked in September.

In month four, the bill goes from zero to the full price, trial options included.

Why does the end of the promo so often fall in January?

Because the sign-up window closes at the end of September.

A bundle ordered at the end of September is rarely activated before October. October, November, December: three free months. The first full bill arrives in January. And January is the month Belgian operators raise their price grids: in January 2026, Proximus, Orange, VOO and Telenet increased their fixed bundles by 1 to 4 EUR a month.

The Proximus conditions contain a sentence almost nobody reads: if the base price of the subscription goes up, the promotional price goes up by the same amount. The discount is a fixed sum, not a percentage. If an increase lands during your three free months, you pay the difference on that very bill.

When I was installing set-top boxes around Namur, the January calls all sounded alike. The customer had signed in the autumn, had never seen a bill above zero, and discovered the end of the promotion and the indexation at the same time. Two increases on the same payment notice, and neither of them a surprise on paper.

Proximus, Orange, Telenet, VOO: how many promo months at each?

From three months to "for life", with amounts that have nothing in common.

The four big operators do not trim the bill the same way. Proximus packs everything into three months. The others spread it out. Here are the mechanisms in force, with each bundle's post-promotion price and its cost over thirty-six months.

Two readings of that table.

The Proximus promo is the most generous in euros: 227.97 EUR on Internet Go + TV, against 120 EUR at Telenet (20 EUR over six months) and 108 EUR at Orange (9 EUR over twelve months). But it is also the one that produces the steepest step. At Orange, the bill goes from 81 EUR to 90 EUR, so +9 EUR on the thirteenth bill. At Proximus, it goes from 0 EUR to 75.99 EUR. Even when you know it is coming, the jolt shows on the bank statement.

The VOO line needs a warning. VOO grants six months of discount on bundles including Net Super Relax signed between 10 August and 4 October 2026, but the amount varies with the bundle and I have not found it displayed consistently. I would rather leave a cell empty than invent a figure. The 72 EUR is the full price of Duo Net Super Relax TV since 1 January 2026, after a 3 EUR increase announced in November 2025.

Can you keep a reduced price when the promo ends?

Sometimes, and never without asking.

The Flex+ promotion does not extend itself. Three levers remain, in order of effectiveness.

Call before month four, not after. A customer who announces they are leaving before the price step carries more weight than one asking for a goodwill gesture on a bill already issued. Proximus presents Flex+ as commitment-free: you can leave at any time with no subscription fees, and the person answering the phone knows it.

Strip out what you do not use. The fixed line can be removed from a Flex+ bundle on request, as Proximus points out on its own page. The trial options too. That is often ten to twenty-odd euros a month recovered without negotiating anything.

Switch operator to become a "new customer" again. It is the only way to get another welcome promotion. The approach has a cost you do not see: every switch means an installation, a box to return, channels to find again. And VOO's example shows a welcome promotion can create two lasting classes of subscriber. According to the Belgian daily L'Avenir, customers recruited between July and December 2024 pay 55 EUR a month for Duo Net Super Relax TV, against 72 EUR for everyone else, thanks to a lifetime discount of 17 EUR.

A Belgian operator may change its prices mid-contract, but it must warn you and let you cancel with no break fee if you refuse the change. The BIPT (Belgian Institute for Postal Services and Telecommunications, the telecoms regulator) restates that rule on its consumer pages, and the Telecommunications Ombudsman Service handles billing disputes free of charge when an operator does not respond.

The calendar to write down on sign-up day

Four dates, one sheet of paper.

The activation day, not the order day. The last day of month three, which is also the deadline for switching off Netflix, Disney+ or Secure Net. The first full payment notice, to check line by line against the post-promotion price in this table. And the following January, for any indexation.

To place these amounts in the wider market, see how much a TV subscription costs in Belgium, the TV subscription ranking or the TV subscription comparator. And if the month-four step makes you decide to leave, the procedure is in cancelling Proximus, VOO or Orange without fees.

The full price, with no transition. Surveyed on 27 September 2026 on proximus.be: 75.99 EUR/month for Flex+ Internet Go + TV, 82.99 EUR with Mega Fiber, 92.99 EUR with Giga Fiber, and 90.99 EUR/month for Internet Go + TV + mobile. That amount applies from month four.

In principle, no. The conditions target any new internet subscriber taking out Flex+ between 17 August and 30 September 2026. A customer who already has internet with Proximus is excluded. A mobile-only customer who adds internet does fit the definition. Check your own case against the promotion conditions.

The discount stops and the bill jumps from 0 EUR to the full price, so +75.99 EUR from one month to the next on Internet Go + TV. No dedicated letter is planned: the increase shows up on the next payment notice. Write down your activation date on the day itself so you do not discover it on the bill.

Yes. Netflix (16.99 EUR), Disney+ (10.99 EUR) or another TV option (12.99 EUR) are refunded for 3 months and then billed at the normal price. The 3-month Secure Net trial becomes a subscription at 4, 2 or 6 EUR/month unless you cancel it in MyProximus. Conditions surveyed on 27 September 2026.

Yes for the subscription: Proximus presents Flex+ as commitment-free, changeable or cancellable at any time at no cost. What remains are any charges for unreturned equipment. Hand back the Internet Box and the set-top box, and keep proof of drop-off.

Orange, with 12 months of discount on some trio bundles or a lifetime discount on others. Telenet cuts internet by 20 EUR for 6 months, VOO grants 6 months on its Net Super Relax bundles. Proximus is the shortest at 3 months, but it is the only one that brings the bill down to zero. Surveyed on 27 September 2026.
